The ANSC (Australian National Sabot Council) Constitution
The following letter was recently sent to the ANSC. All zones voted to accept the proposed amendments to the ANSC constitution:
Pip Kile
Secretary ANSC
Dear Pip
The Tasmanian Sabot Association would like the following postal motion submitted for vote by the remaining zones to alter the ANSC Constitution.
Preamble
It was raised and agreed by all present at the 2010 ANSC AGM held at Wynyard Tasmania that the age to sail the 1 up sabot be lowered. Discussion was held surrounding the reasons for this change that included:
Tasmania has trialled this proposed amendment at the March 2011 State Championships with success.
A quote of feedback received from a Tasmanian parent after the State Championships regatta: “Angus is too big for 2 up and not challenged in development. He was quickly losing interest, but I now see renew excitement and he is keen to keep going, a great outcome!”
The proposal is to lower the optional age to sail 1 up by 12 months. There is no intention to change the 2 up age as it currently stands.
